My new work oasis – St Clements, Parsons Green.

I am always looking for a good cafe that I can call ‘home’. A place where I can set up shop with my books, laptop, magazines and type away for a few hours. A place where I can order a coffee and breakfast in my first hour followed by tea and a cake in the second and not feel like I have a waiter breathing down my neck for the table.

St Clements offers exactly this and is officially my new favourite local café. It is located in Parsons Green on New Kings Road.

The fitout is gorgeous and the setting is very picturesque – with yummy mummies pushing prams, labradors and dalmatians playing in the dog park and gents in suits stopping by for an americano to go. It’s pretty much all my life goals rolled into one.

It’s a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of other cafes popping up. It’s not the grungy, borderline dirty, trendiness of Camden or Shoreditch but the kind of café you go to to catch up with a girlfriend or have Sunday breakfast with the in-laws.

St Clements uses fresh and organic ingredients that can definitely be tasted in the food. There is a seasonal menu seen St Clements, which means it’s constantly changed every few months and the ingredients used are what’s in season, so they’re incredibly fresh. Everything is also made on the spot to order, which makes it feel extra special and you can also see most of it being made behind the bar.

The coffee is provided by Ozone Coffee Roaster, located in East London and known as a hand roaster supplier. For you coffee enthusiasts, the coffee is a blend of three beans from Ethiopia – which gives the coffee its berry, tarty, fruity flavor. The milk used for the coffee is also organic, which means my lattes are extra cream.

So, if you’re in the area or a local yourself – pop in and check it out for yourself. You will probably see me lurking in the corner tucking into my granola.
