Foxcroft & Ginger, Soho, London

Husband and wife duo, Quintin and Georgina opened the doors to Foxcroft & Ginger back in January 2010. Since then, it has become a regular hot spot amongst Soho dwellers. The two of them have been in the restaurant biz for over a decade, so they really knew what it took to open a successful brunch spot in one of London’s most gastro-crazed foodie districts.

Amongst the hustle and bustle of Soho, F&G offers a laid back all day dining spot, where you can enjoy a well brewed coffee in the morning, pick up a sandwich at lunch or share a couple of dinner plates with great wine after 5.

The area’s young creatives clearly love F&G. I went for brunch on a Thursday and was offered a table almost immediately, although it filled out quickly with laptop-tappers, lazy brunches and business folk. I set up shop with my laptop and it provides a great little spot to sit for a couple of hours people watching the streets of Soho.

TAKE NOTE: GOOD COFFEE. They have a couple of Aussie baristas working the coffee machine and do a smooth pour over filter… Definitely worth taking note of where all the good coffee shops are in London as they are hard to come by! FullSizeRender

In the mornings they offer both their brunch and lunch menu which allows for variety and pleases everyone on the table. So no battles need to be fought over choosing a brunch or lunch venue. We opted for the 63C slow-poached eggs on toast with a whole heap of sides! Fresh, tasty produce that left us feeling very satisfied.

One thing you will notice as soon as you walk into F&G is the cakes and pastry display. Truly heavenly and I couldn’t resist trying one at the end whilst sipping on a lemongrass/ginger tea. This was a lemon zest, cream filled cake of some description. YUM. All bread, cakes and pastries are baked on site and available to take away. Gluten free options available also.

  1. Ooh this looks gorgeous- I lived in Melbourne for 3 years and my God do they know how to brunch out there! I’m yet to find coffee as good as that here so I’ll have to check this out!
