Brigitte Bardot frolicked on the beaches of St. Tropez in the ’50s; now it’s the playground of the rich and famous and international socialites. Beyonce + Jay Z, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez and Jack Nicholson are all regulars and can be found relaxing with an Aperol Spritz in hand by the beach (or on their private yachts…). It is a very glam, chi-chi place (which is half the fun of it!), so I suggest saving your pennies to ensure you go in with a BANG! But if you’re not Kayne, take heart: you’ll find a few family-friendly, public beaches where the sun, sand and waves are just as fabulous.

Saint Tropez is located in the French Riviera and is fairly remote. The easiest way to get there is to fly into Nice-Côte d’Azur airport and then hire a car or driver to pick you up (2hour drive to St Tropez). St Tropez is perfect for a week away with family or friends (or even a hens do!). It is somewhere where Londoners can head for a long weekend which is great but if travelling from Australia, it is worth spending a week here max then exploring some other great spots on the South of France.

Although there is a hell of a lot of partying, it is also surprisingly relaxing. The small town is home to some of the largest vineyards in the South of France so you can spend days visiting and wandering the wineries. The fresh seafood, fruit and veggie and gorgeous wines make the trip even more special.

I will follow up shortly with places to eat + stay – WATCH THIS SPACE!
